HS2 is integral to local plans to drive business growth
These plans will create jobs and secure investment years before it arrives. The Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership have put in place the Cumbria Infrastructure Plan which recognises the benefits and opportunities provided by being HS2 ready.
Penrith and Oxenholme
The LEP is considering improvements to capitalise on the arrival of HS2 services at Penrith and Oxenholme, with better access and passenger facilities seen as essential. We are working with Cumbria County Council to ensure the county achieves the full potential of HS2. HS2 integration will also help to stimulate the tourism sector.
91 North West businesses have already delivered work on HS2
Over half of all companies delivering work for HS2 are small and medium sized businesses. That number will grow as the pace of construction increases.
