Whilst we strive to achieve excellence and not awards, it’s great when our work is recognised and appreciated by others. We constantly push ourselves to be a more inclusive, diverse employer and so we are proud that we’ve recently picked up a number of awards in this area and beyond.

MSDUK Inclusive Procurement Award 2018
This award is to recognise a British public or private sector purchasing organisation outside of the Minority Supplier Development UK (MSDUK) network for their effort on an inclusive supply chain and engagement with ethnic minority and small businesses. MSDUK is the UK’s leading non-profit membership organisation driving inclusive procurement and supplier diversity.
ICE Team of the Year 2018
The HS2 M25 slip roads team won the Team of the Year Award at the ICE (Institute of Civil Engineers) 2018 Awards. The Team of the Year Award recognises the most dynamic, diverse and collaborative team in the industry.
Women in Rail Awards 2018 Top Employer
The award recognises our work as an employer who has taken pro-active steps towards female talent retention within their organisation and in the railway industry.

WISE
HS2 is a member of the Women in Science and Engineering campaign. WISE assists its members via sharing best practice, tools and guidance and inspiring the next generation of talent. HS2 is a WISE 10 steps signatory and participates in a number of WISE initiatives.
Armed Forces Employers Recognition Scheme
In August 2019 HS2 was awarded the Armed Forces Employers Recognition Scheme – Gold Award in recognition of its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces Covenant. This was in recognition of having a distinct Reservist policy to allow service personnel to meet their training commitments, supporting serving personnel and their families transitioning out of the forces and advocating for the Covenant. We have pledged to honour the Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces community. We recognise the value that Serving Personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans and military families contribute to our business and country. In 2017/18, 28% of our graduates were BAME and 43% of our apprentices were women

Employers Network on Equality & Inclusion (enei)
Our membership of enei provides us with opportunities to collaborate across sectors on the best practice and benefit from solutions developed across the UK to issues such as Unconscious Bias and Inclusive Leadership.
Disability Confident Leader
HS2 has gained recognition as a Level 3 Disability Confident Leader from the Department for Work & Pensions scheme. The Disability Confident scheme aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people. It is voluntary and has been developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives.
